Travelling in the World of Niki de Saint Phalle

If Niki de Saint Phalle's Flowers were a place, it would be......

Provence, France!

I see so many similarities between the Provence region of France and the work of Niki de Saint Phalle. Niki was born in France and spent much of her life there and she donated a ton of her work to the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nice. Besides these obvious similarities, there's the color, the voluptuous landscape, and the playfulness of the region.

This is me posing as a Nana in front of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nice. This museum houses A LOT of Niki's work. Needless to say, it's a fun museum to visit.

Provence has been a muse to many artists, including Van Gogh, Picasso, Cezanne, Matisse, Dufy, and Yves Klein (who is from Nice). So many have come to enjoy the beautiful light. That brightness is was reminds me so much of the work of Niki de Saint Phalle. Wouldn't it be amazing to go there and paint
